Since my father was an Oldsmobile dealer, I have decided to focus my collection on Oldsmobiles in his memory. So, I'm selling my gorgeous 1970 GS 455 Stage 1 4-speed with factory air, one of 193 built. It's a stunning car in an outstanding color combination. The odomometer shows 17,710 miles but I'm sure it has turned over. I have not done anything cosmetically to the car, I bought it as you see it here. I have had the car in the shop sorting our some mechanical issues, and basically gave the owner a blank check and told him that I wanted it right. Among other things, he tuned it up, changed the oil, replaced the steering gearbox, charged the a/c (it blows cold), checked over the chassis and suspension thoroughly, and went over the car in general. He also installed seat relocation brackets that moved the bucked seat tracks back 2" for us tall guys. It has had a recent front end alignment. The only issues he did not address were the tach and the radio, both of which are inop.

The car is located in Springfield, Missouri, and has clear title. The price is $130,000. Please message me with any questions of if you have an interest.

    Beautiful car.

I know someone who is interested and asking me if I can research it for him. Do you know the previous history like who restored it? Is the drivetrain original to the car/numbers matching?

Please post a picture of the cowl tag.

    Thanks.

Because of the sad circumstances under which I acquired the car, I don't know anything of its history. I don't want to relate that here, but would be glad to in a phone call. The block is numbers matching. I forgot to get a photo of the transmission while I had the car up on the lift and the lift is tied up at the moment. I don't have any reason to think that it would not be numbers matching. Here's a photo of the data tag.

Here's some info behind some of the requests I have received. I'm basically an Oldsmobile guy, so my knowledge of Buicks is not quite as good as it is with Oldsmobile. When I bought the car, the seller advised that it had the SS block with the last of the VIN on it. That's all I knew to ask for to ensure it was a real Stage 1, since he did not have any paperwork. When I received the car, I verified that he was correct.

When I decided to sell it, I was told that neither the manual transmission nor the rear end held any codes to verify that the car was a real Stage 1, so I didn't take photos of them. I attempted to take photos of the codes on the block, but their location and the fact that they are covered in paint meant they didn't show up well in photos. I will try again and post pictures if they are productive. The car is a beautiful car, and as you know, is very rare with the 4-speed and factory air. I've spent a lot of money attending to the little things that most sellers would ignore, such as making sure the a/c blows cold and the front end is aligned. Yes, the tach does not work and the radio is inop. I can either spend more time chasing down parts for those, or I can get my other cars worked on. My guy is a one-man shop and his time is limited. I'd rather he work on my other cars.

As I said, I'm an Olds guy. My father was an Olds dealer. I'm selling the Buick because I had an opportunity to expand my Olds collection with this:

The Buick has to go to make room.

    Here's a walk-around video of the Buick:

I'm not a scammer and this is not a fake car. I really would like to see it go to a good home, and I really don't want to sell it to a flipper or see it go out of the US. Some have said the price is too high. If you're serious, make me a reasonable offer.

Not in line (unfortunately - Beautiful car) but did you ever get a Wayne Roberts report on the car? That would go a long way to quieting any doubters.
