which way does the fuel filter go in the carb. the side with the hole towards the carbor the side without the hole towards the carb? also does the spring go before the filter or after? it is a 2 bbl rochester.

The spring goes in first, the filter goes in with the hole mating up to the incoming fuel line.

So, before you screw on the big inlet nut, the filter should be trying to jump out, and you should be able to see the hole in the filter.

    Was wondering.

Is the filter on the carburator the only fuel filter in the system ?

the filter in the carb is the only filter in the fuel delivery system, unless u consider the sock on the fuel pickup in the gas tank .
