    Hey guys,

I'm in the finishing stages of re-wiring my 67 special, and i was wondering if anyone out there knows how eaxctly the fuel sender and fuel guage work on these cars... my dad is very knwoledgeable with electronics, but all he's worked on are mopars, so he's not sure exactly what resistance values i should be seeing and how exactly the fuel guage system work. Since i already have everything all taken apart, I'd like to fix any problems now.... thanks for any help you can offer!

  2. I couldn't tell you for the exact car because I do not have a manual, but one side of the fuel gauge should get positive 12 volts, and the other side would get ground coming from the float in the fuel tank. If you ground the sender wire, you should either get full or empty on the gauge, and the other way around when you unground the wire. Resistances can be found in the factory service manual and someone on the board should have that book.
