fuel leak down

    Don't these fuel pumps have a check valve to keep the fuel in the line above the pump? My line runs dry after 2 days or so, as do my fuel bowls. This filter was dry this morning (see attached pic)

    You may be experiencing the evaporation rather than run off. Depending on the fuel used, a floatbowl can evaporate to half full in one day. As soon as the float drops, it exposes the fuel in the line to the same evaporative conditions. Food for thought. Though I am not sure, I believe the only connection to the inlet from the outlet is the diaphragm, and its valving. It is not a hermetic seal, and will allow evaporation. Ray

    i had one of those external glass-encased fuel filters for a short period of time . they are dangerous . i had my only one come apart & spew fuel all over . i now use the proper incarb filter . i would imagine that this is a temp fix before u get your proper carb filter housing installed . fyi .
