Hi all, My 68 Wildcat is leaking fuel from the filler neck because the previous owner pried out a failed locking gas cap. The sealing surface is damaged to the point that fuel dribbles out when I accelerate. I straightened everything best possible, but it's screwed. I roughed up all around the filler neck and used JB weld to make a new sealing surface and filed it flat. Problem solved until the JB weld started failing. Is there a type of Epoxy that doesn't react with fuel? My only goal is to pass mechanical inspection in order to plate the car. Once the car is plated, I can take my time and source a new tank, or graft on an undamaged filler neck if finding a tank proves onerous. I'm only looking for a stop gap solution as I'm still weeks away from completing my current project. Thanks for any advice, Gary 68 Wildcat
Marine Tex epoxy will withstand the E10 fuel. It is what Cliff Ruggles uses to seal the Q-jet main well plugs. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Marine-Tex-...ash=item1eb043295d:g:UgUAAOSw2x1XLjBZ&vxp=mtr
