I recall some discussion about differences between floor consoles on cars with/ without AC units. There is a difference, correct? I had a console with a low profile front section and now have one that looks like an inch or so taller. Sound correct?

Ahhhh, the taller ones are 73-77. 70-2 are all the same regardless of ac or not.

George- I am meaning in the front.. and I am looking at a 68-69. I will post a couple of pics tomorrow. I had a tan 68-69 that had a thin front end 'snout' and the one I have now has a higher front end profile/ 'snout'....

    Maybe it's just a difference from '68 to '69 ? I don't know why AC/non AC would alter the console.:Do No:

There are no differences in consoles by AC or non-AC.
68-72 have the same molded plastic body. 68-69 have the short dull silver pot metal top, and 70-72 have the long chrome/woodgrain top. As George said, 73-77 uses a taller plastic body with the 70-72 chrome woodgrain top.
So, you MAY have a 73-77 body with a 68-69 top on it...
