Just wanted to let you guys know you can now run full lenth headers on your 71-73 riv. all you have to do is change the cross menber. G-force performance crossmember made a custom one for me and Dave said he sat two aside. let me know if you would like to see some pics.

I just run the tubular Pontiac full size double hump crossmember. Bolts right in and clears header collectors nicely. Must be pre 1975. I must admit that it's pretty cool for G-force to actually make a crossmember for our cars though.

Just post 3 more times, and then post the photos. It's a catch designed to ward off porn spammers.

Does the collector size matter? And how much for said cross member?

I think the collectors on most 455 headers are 3 1/2"

Dave said he was going to try to get get around 300.00 bucks for one. but call G-Force and ask for Dave. Tell him Croy Harris gave you his name. he may cut you a better deal.

Looking good! What brand headers are those? I hate when the collector bolt down there is at the 6 o'clock position. Did you need that for body clearance?

I bought them from Postons years ago and had them on my other Riv. sorry I dont have the brand name. maybe if you can call Postons they might tell you. but latly they have been #%&&*&% holes about telling you things.the 6 o'clock position you don't need that for body clearance. there is a mile of room now. even the right side header is bent up a little and it clears fine!

I'd like to see more pictures for sure. You should start a thread dedicated to this project, it sounds really cool.

No sweat, thanks for the answer...Poston Enterprises, or whatever they were calling the company, is dead at the moment. I don't think the founder has been involved in quite some time. I just wanted to know the original source in case I came across that design in the future. Your project's progress is impressive.
