There has been lots of discussion of how great it would be to have a full size Buick Registry.
broken down by model/year/generation etc.
But it seems to have never gotten any farther then few saying they help or a bunch of ideas and someone registering the domain name and not using it.

.I built the the 71-73 Riviera Registry - www.boattail-riviera-by-buick.com

And I'm now ready go ahead with a way for it to be expanded to inlcude any and all Buicks - as sub domains
- set up and administered by you the experts (you really dont need to be an expert to start ,but will be after a bit) for each model - generation (what ever range you wish to take on.)
-individual car data is populated by and under the control of the individual car owners ,via pull down selections, input boxes and a java photo upload manager. - The info is displayed in Public Registry Pages and Members Only Area (for doumentaion - history - previous owner etc) see the Public Registry - each sub registry will get its own page with custom header - the links to other registries, public galleries, specific library content and other features as selected/built by the administrator for each

I've built a template, background database and input routines to let you build your own registry based on boattail model - You dont need to know how to program - Just input data and administer you own section of the big registry - I'll do the custom work and help you get it going.

You do need to make a commitment that once you start you will follow thru - it will lake lots of your time as these ARE ALL AUTOMATED members signup - Car owners simply select their colors trims options etc to build their registry pages - of course that means you have to collect, sort and input all that info first before a page can be put up (i have a good chunk of much of it and will walk you thru the easy way to get it done , really just option price guides for many form 63 thru 72- still the initial setup will take a hundred or more hours of your time and them day to day admin can take an hour or so day more if want to make member slides as I have.

Interested -- please get real familiar with the Boattail Registry - them PM me for guest membership so you can see how all works it from a member perspective - If you are willing to start one up we'll get you going. Once A few come on line we'll go active with Main FULL SIZE BUICK REGISTRIES PAGE which will list them and other Buick Registries.

A little computer savvy would be helpful for the first couple - to help iron out any bugs but i'll spend the time as needed to walk you through .

A key piece of info to make each of these registries possible is Price Guides - the info from them goes into producing the options list for each model year - If you have one please send scans in so can they made into lists that will be available to those who are going build a registry for you - send either to robs71redriv@boattail-riviera-by-buick.com or use Donate Documents/Make a Submission (preferred -it keeps me organized and runs a tally for you - gives you info to access having free flip books made as a thank you for helping out)

So far we have 71 which is in library for your use
<center> [IMG]</center>
1971 Buick Pocket Price Directory - 24 November, 1970 - - - - - - - - - - - - - an insert to the 1971 Buick Facts Pocket Binder - Salesmen's Guide - GM Corp

Going along with the expansion of the registries will be library expansion (applicable documents will be added to each regisitry) - if you have GM Buick documents (or others that could used - like tech tips) any model/year please send those in, (scans of pages(number in correct order including covers), Pdf, word doc's etc all work fine) they will be made into searchable bookmarked documents (pdf sent to you) and be added to library for your registry when it gets built.

I like your idea of a full size Buick registry open to all years and models...I do have it right, correct?

I love my 64 Wildcat convertible and have collected a lot of info on it including option codes and pricing. Luckily for me all of the original paperwork, except for the window sticker and build sheet were with the car when I purchased it including the Protect-O-Plate. I have created a reproduction window sticker and found original chassis and body shop manuals. Since I do most of my own work I can share my knowledge on the car including some of the work I've done recently such as replacing and tuning the carb, cooling system rebuild, and fuel tank cleaning/electric fuel pump conversion (in-tank).
I still have lots to learn and would like to share info with others.

Is this the general idea? If so, count me in. :TU:

5. robs71redriv

robs71redriv robs71redriv

Thats the general idea for members page what we need is administrators for each model and a group of related years - who set up the pages for members to select their colors trims options PM me with an email I'll set GUEST membership for the boattail so you can see how it all works - if you to carry on with a wildcat section (single year or multi year) you tell me what years - I set it for you to start plugging in the info (you have and I have ) when that's ready, we bulid a header of you liking and it goes live for members to sign on and enter their cars - you to administer approve members - add extra modules as your ready -- library -galleries - part traders - member update emails - facebook group etc - each will be own but in all similar style to
http://boattail-riviera-by-buick.com/registry/publicreg/index.php?qoption=vinsearch&doSearch=Sort%2FSearch&q=&page=1

If people have info for a particular model/year to insert for Options- pricing /color and trim/ but dont wish to become an administrator we can do that too. and have it waiting for an adminstrator to take on that part of the registry.

6. robs71redriv

robs71redriv robs71redriv

here's a see how it works for inputting data - this an example only you can mess with
go ahead - cut and paste whatever info you wish - it will show up here but not options list on the account page or in the database.

the link below will let in and take to an fake admin account (which is very similiar to a member account page) - you can input info but it will not accept it.

to see how admin inputs ( for color and trim and options) works from the control panel select Admin Edit Options
<!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:WordDocument> <w:View>Normal</w:View> <w:Zoom>0</w:Zoom> <w:DoNotOptimizeForBrowser/> </w:WordDocument> </xml><![endif]--> http://boattail-riviera-by-buick.com/registry/Other/secure/login2.php?model=FS_Buick_Test_Input
username: adminplay
password adminplay

Admin CP is the control for approving and editing user inputs - and making new accounts - again you can play see what it lets administrators do but no actual info will entered.

The other control selections are standard for all users and not all are functional in this example but they'll let you see what inputs the members have ( Upload Gallery Pictures on admin account will be how you can make gallery pull downs - and upload pictures for in your header) color and trim info from admin edit options above would go into the pull downs - options/prices get displayed as check boxes.

The users only then have make their selections and inputs upload pictures and both their members and public registry pages are built automatically from those inputs.

I guess I have conclude its only a good idea and we absolutely need one - only if someone else does all the work.
Not one helpers/or even one piece of data to be input yet.

Rob,

I have some info to send you this weekend...not sure yet what would be the best format (excel spreadsheet, scans, etc). Work is very busy along with family and church obligations, time is at a premium during the week. I will consider being the Wildcat "administrator" (I use that term very liberally) as my experience is primarily with 1964 models. Also, my computer skills may not be up to task.

I've got a lot of stuff scanned this week. Now I need to do a little editing and put it all together before uploading. I hope I have more time to drive than to edit this weekend but Isaac may have something to say about that:pray:

Hi Rob,

Things have been kind of crazy around here so I have to put things on hold for a while. Last Saturday evening my father-in-law had a mild heart attack (I have a hard time calling any heart attack mild) and since he already has a pace maker and has had a stroke about 10 years ago it is still pretty serious. He is doing better now but still recovering. Then last Wednesday we got 2 children to foster, a boy 20 months old and his sister who is 4. They are in need of much support and time so they have been priority #1 for us. These children are not taken form their parents and homes due to good situations, obviously, and require a lot of care at first. My wife and I are trying to get them stabilized before I have to travel on business next week.
While on my business trip next week I hope to have a little time to upload some documents and take a tour of the registry, but family has to come first. I haven't even had time to take out my Buick to the rod runs that I had planned to go to this past weekend and next weekend or to check email at home.

Its not happening or going to without some help.
A bunch of people complain there is no info for buicks available - by adding what we each have , there will lots for all.
check out the libraries - just image if everyone put a little in.

Even though the registries are full size - the libraries are for all buicks -intermediate specific pubs are in their own sections

I had hoped to upload some data over the holidays, but just found out I will have to work over the Christmas shutdown due to customer demands and product launch issues. Damn these off-road emissions regulations. It's a double edged sword for powertrain suppliers. It's brought us a lot of new business but there is so much new technology required in such a short timeline to try to meet the new EPA regulations it is unreal. I've been working ~60 hours/week and am still falling behind.

Add to that the foster care we do and all of the juggling of appointments for the children and it adds up to one busy week after another.
