Can someone tell me (better yet, SHOW me) where the rear defroster and rear speaker go in a convertible? There's not a lot of room back there, I just can't imagine. John
Info on rear stuff in a convertible Hi John.. I have a convertible with the rear speaker option. It's a single speaker, fit into the bracing behind the rear seat. There is no opening for the speaker..so it was designed to face and play into the seatback! It is located on the right side of the bracing. Oddly, it looks like the bracing is designed for dual speakers, but that wasn't an option. I do not have a rear defroster. I have seen a picture of the assembly, though. It has a long thin air vent that must sit just behind the seat, maybe with the convertible shroud formed around it (my guess..?) There are others on the board who can answer with more knowledge on the defroster. But yes, they were both options on a convertible! Stanley
I have seen the heated line defroster on the rear glass on a '69 Pontiac Grand Prix. Would it be possible for Buick to have that by '72 on the Skylark?
Rear Defogger? Wow...a rear defogger on a convertible? I had not heard of that before. I see the switch under the power top switch though. How did it work on the convertible? Anyone know?o No:
Re: Rear Defogger? That was my question! I know they had both. The only place the speaker COULD be is behind the seat. Or in the trunk. Either way, it would have to play through a bit of material. Probably be un-hearable with the top down at 35! John
The rear speaker is quite a joke. I did not know I had one until I had the Sonomatic crankin the tunes  with my head in the trunk .
If this is a factory bucket seat car then it is EXTREMELY rare. Most likely an SCO # car. The guy said heavily optioned, he would be correct. Too bad it's not a GS. :ball:
