Internet images sometimes have been modified and the color isn’t representative of the actual color on the car.
They bill it as 1 of 3 in Fireglow. Did they just get the color wrong, or change it? Wish they showed the trim tag...
Where is this car? I can't find it on Mecum, and your link only shows the photo? It also looks like they may have taken this photo at the "Golden hour" of sunset, to really get that color?
Who did the restoration???? Quick glance: no hose hook, 68 AM radio, stage 1 sticker on a chrome lid....
The pinch weld makes it worse, but it still does not line up. look at the upper line in the photos... Or maybe it's just a repair of that dogleg that isn't exactly right...
It does now look like the pinch weld but it still looks angled to me. Also appears to have '68 style wheel opening moldings with the black stripe in the center.
I was at Mecum on Saturday, May 15th, and saw the "Fireglow" car. In addition to the items you folks mentioned above there were a few other things. The cowl tag did indeed have the Q, but it also had a letter (E?) denoting it should have a vinyl top. Also, the decklid molding was a Skylark with the Buick cut off (I've pulled this off myself). I will say this, in the dim light of the building it was parked in, this car sure looked pretty. Word of caution...there is a '68 Riviera (green) coming up this week that I would lay my eyes on before bidding. The yellow X coming up was an honest ride. Really original car, blemishes and all. Under the dash a/c unit on an X. Wow. Anyone know who bought this GS?
By chance, did you look at the '70 Bamboo Cream Stage 1? The '71 Lime Green Judge went for an okay price, it must not have been as nice as I thought.
Judge looked real nice in a "walk by"...did not see the Bamboo car nor the blue '69 Stage 1 that crossed late last Saturday. Sorry
Wow that GSX is wearing a really old set of tires. That design of Goodyear Eagle ST with the eagle head was discontinued prior to 1990. So they are over 30 years old.
