what would happen: 3/4 of a gallon of a 50:1 gas oil mix, combined with 20 gallons of desiel fuel in a backhoe? just wondering, not that anything like that could ever happen at work. It would be stupid to use red, unmarked gas cans for gas, desiel and 50:1 mower/trimmer fuel.
I had similar thoughts on what kind of crap can you mix with gas and "water" it down when the prices gets real high. Might not be safe for newer cars but an old buick with a hot ign. should be able fire off fuel oil. After seen that news report about people using a 50/50 mix of diesel fuel and cooking oil. -Matt
Once when I ran out of diesel while towing a trailer full of dirt bikes with my Dodge Ram. I mixed 5 gallons of premium with a quart of 2 stroke, one of 15w40 engine oil and one of ATF. It ran ok for 2 miles till the next gas station. Didnt smoke at all. After I filled it up with diesel it ran better than usual. That was 20k miles ago, no damage done. ________ Web Shows
whiskey doesn't burn too well, but a bottle in half a tank is OK. Don't ever drive drunk friends home. The dude had a bottle and cops kept tailing us. I got paranoid, so I jacked the bottle and filled up my gas tank. Worked OK, I guess.
Not a thing. I've heard you can run up to a 50/50 mixture of gas & diesel fuel in a diesel engine without harm. But, of course I've never tried it. So don't rush out & do it. But the small amount you're talking about definitely won't hurt.
gas in diesel depending on the age of the vehicle, there are sensors to stop the engine from running . if not , a good taste of gasoline in a diesel engine could cause the engine to rev to no end & blow up !
