I have been searching and can't seem to find my gas pedal or the linkage.

Can somebody send me a photo of what this should look like?

Also if anyone has a spare lying around, let me know.
    Thanks
    Jon

Unless you are wanting it to be original looking Lokar has a great pedal assembly that converts it to cable

I have the piece that goes from the pedal through the firewall. I don't have the rod assembly that goes to the carb.

Yeah, I'm looking for the pedal thru the firewall. That big z shaped do hickey.

That is exactly it. I found one of the few remaining u pullit places out of town and pulled one off the firewall and snapped off the Carb. Looks just like that. Now what are those roller things at the top?

Rollers are for the pedal to roll on.. To make it work you MUST have the pedal for the 67 buick a-body. Possibly a 66. with the ST trans.

If you are not running the ST 300/400 trans or the 67 carb I would look into the Lokar that Hugger recommended

Not necessarily, I believe it'll work with any pedal that will fit on the floor studs. I've got a pedal out of a '68 Riv and it works just fine.....

And Archie has what looks like it may be an aftermarket pedal in his car......

All the pre 67 GM cars used the cantilever pedal, linkage and ball stud mounts on the floor before going to a free hanging pedal and cable. The new style was a DOT-FMVSS thing to prevent WOT lockup when a motor mount breaks. The studs unscrew with a 1/2" (?) deep socket. Right Jim??? ws

Found my junk one. Its the the one with the dime on it...
Balls that they mount (snap)on are also sold on the re-pop market.. They dont work either.

The big one is the factory one ( stud is broke off but drill&tap good as new)
the small one is a smaller version of what they sell. It won't pop out though the carpet. Can it be re-engineered to work? Yes. IMG_0429.jpg IMG_0428.jpg

Always a better way to re-engineer something 60 years later that doesnt work as well as a worn out OEM part....That block is to lock the pedal at half throttle and cause a crash. Maybe hit Mad max's kids' school bus or worse. Right JIM??? ws

The advantage of owning a CNC machine shop is that you can make your own ball studs. :) I made up a pair of them years ago, so at least I don't have to worry about that.

The linkage I got also included a gas pedal, with the steel backing plate. The face is in good condition, but of course one of the ball sockets is destroyed.
But I have the linkage now, I can get it cleaned up, blasted and plated and installed before the engine shows up. Jim should be working on my engine, but with his health in the terlit and now his buddy, things are not happening too fast. I'm using the extra time to get everything ready for install.
Frame pads and trans cross member are established.
Brake system installed and only 1 leak.
Dug out the alternator, brackets and wiring harness yesterday. I need to do a bit of modifications to go to internally regulated setup.
    One thing at a time.
