my gauge lights only come on when i have my brights on. as soon as i hit the switch to turn them off they go off. when i do have my brights on they are still very dim to where i can barely see them. i checked my fuses and nothing. any help would be appreciated, thanks

Have you turned the headlight switch counter clockwise to brighten the dash lights?

are you sure that your "inst pnl" fuse is not blown and that your high beam indicator isnt just bleeding light to the insturment panel when you have the high beams on?
your insturment panel lights ground through the headlight switch mounting i believe. so if the headlight switch is not mounted, the inst pnl lights will not work.

my car is a 70 buick gs. i actually broke the chrome bezel that holds it in the dash and i routed it under the dash temporarily till i can find a new one. it is grounded because if its not grounded my dome light wont work. i'll check my instrument panel fuse again and the only light i am seeing is the upper one to indicat my brights are on. thanks. i'll post more as i find it out
