Twin power antenna's. Cool or Not?

Guess its too late to turn back now....I like them myself...I think if they were more angled they be Ghetto'd.

Glad youns like them. I wasn't so sure. I always liked how they looked on 57 Chevys. I went for a drive, I put them down about a foot and I think that looks even better. They are original 69 Buick antenna's. I mounted the left side exactly were the factory put it, and just measured the same on the other side. Rebuilding the one was a royal pain! I have them working off one factory switch, but as you may have guessed, that doesn't mean they operate evenly. I had extra wiring harness's so I made a harness that goes in between the plugs on the left one to feed the right. This way, nothing's butchered. I don't have a antenna wire to the right side yet, but I may make an adaptor there as well. Or I may run a cable to hook the CB up for them road trips!!

I always liked the dual antenna look. I was going to state about 6 to 8 inches lower would go great in my opinion.

You know, Blaupunkt makes a reciever that has some "twinceiver" technology that supposedly will use two antennas and create a good signal out of two not so great ones. Just a thought, now that you have two antennas!:TU:

I like it. I have a similar plan for my 66 electra. I want the Impala antenna's.

 

Dan,in my opinion only a big car can pull the duals for looks,yours looks kool.Not wanting to sound ghettoish:grin: ,I like a little slant on the bases myself,I'll call it streamlining or fluid motion.That picture of the right rear quarter has some very nice and defined lines,it looks as if it was moving standing still,I like to see the antennas getting ready to whip:spank: .I like your car.You could install one of those over the headliner antennas that the street rodders use(non destructive attachment)and use the rears just for looks at 8"-12" high,just a thought.Looking at the same picture I can see that you have some nice looking wheels already,what are you getting?You may want to keep a set of regular old steel wheels around,Buick made some real nice hubcaps for many years,some of the best,you'll be able to change looks in minutes.Looking forward for more pictures,you have built a nice car there.
