I need a really nice and soft glove box stop,..the little rectangle guy over on the pass side of the box in the dash,...who's got one?
Hugger, The originals usually get very hard, and the only way I found to get them out intact was to cut the metal dash out around them, and then soak it in lacquer thinner. That would soften the rubber up so you could remove it. Then you need to leave it alone for a while until the "fumes" get out, and you can install it into your dash. I reproduced a few of these years ago, and may have 1 or 2 left which I have been saving to make up a new mold. My thought was always to reproduce them again, but we'll see. Duane PS. This part will only fit a 70-72 Buick A-body. No other part will work.
Todd, I believe Hugger is referring to the rectangular gasket the fits into the steel dash, where the glove box door arm slides through. That is the part I reproduced years ago before the fire took out all my molds. As stated above I still have a few of the repros from the initial and only batch I ever reproduced. If so that is a 70-72 Skylark only part, and I do not know if it is currently reproduced or not. I will try to remember and get a pic or two posted here later. Duane
