GM 8.2 BOP gears needed

I need a new or used set of 8.2 BOP gears for my Skylark. 2.79 too 3.08 ratio's would work.

 

How soon do you need them?

 

They did not come in those ratios for the 8.2


They were 2.56, 2.78, 2.93, 3.23. 3.42, 3.64........4.78.

Those ratios are not in my 1966 Buick Chassis Service Manual.

That book lists:

2.56 2.78 2.93 3.08 3.23 3.36 3.55 3.90 4.30

My car has the 8.2 BOP with the 2.78 gears.

 

Yeah they did. I used to have an 65 8.2 that was a 3.08 posi.

 

I am talking the 68-70 ratios and I presumed he was too.

You are talking pre 68.

 

I see you live in MN.

I have a set of 2.93 out of a 67GS 400 and 3.08 out of a 66 chevy that I have been told will work with a different u joint. They 3.08 have the u joint yoke with it.

Where in MN are you? I travel and could save your shipping if these will work.

8.2 gears

Mine is a 65 Buick Skylark convertable stuffed with a chevy 350, turbo 350. It originally had a 2-bl 300 and the 300 tranny. I'm looing for more low end launch while still keeping it a hyway car. 3.08 where recomended but high 2's will do. No hurry as the car is getting the body restored this summer.

 

First remove the 350

Very tired and used oil

 

Body work and floor complete

 

I have gears for the 8.2 bop

Hi thanks for the kind offer. It was not me though asking about them. You should put an ad up on v8 monza.com. I am sure you could get some interest. I have 2 of them one race and one unfinished(NOT STARTED) lol street car. Need to sell the 231 buick motor out of it(54K) mile 1980 motor. Run tip top from air cleaner to pan. Thanks again, Jim
