Anyone ever try one of these? They look rebuildable. Rock Auto shows them for $125 http://www.crateenginedepot.com/mobile/High-Capacity-Fuel-Pump-25500121-P9740.aspx
Looks like it uses the same bolt on eccentric and parts, http://schneidercams.com/248-56Hodd-firehydraulic.aspx
Cool, nice to have performance mechanical pump options. That GM pump specs say it's supposed to put out 9psi.
Has to be NPT. More info needed on this pump, like flow rate, etc. I see GM performance makes fuel filters that only have a 5/16" i.d. in their high performance parts 2020 catalog.
I think that's what I had on my last 350 build in the late 90's. It was either before Robb MC or I didn't know about them (the dark ages if info.). I don't recall how I found out about it or where I bought it and unfortunately can't say I drove the car a tremendous amount after the build but the engine made good power & car ran 13.0's. Probably had high 12's if I'd known what I was doing w/tuning, etc. (M-21, 3.73, Headers, T/A intake, KB C118 cam, true 10.5:1 SCR, ported big valve heads, QJ w/Spacer). I was going to to go to 4.10's if I hadn't sold it (needed the $). Maybe a stock pump would've been fine but I felt better having this one & it certainly never gave me any issues. As @alec296 said, no mods req. I had an NOS V6 cover on it.
I tried an Airtex years ago. Tossed it, it sucked. I think that's Demko s problem. Been using orig A/C for years now. Might be time to experiment.
