Anyone using this distributor meant for V8 high output engine assembly in their 350-2?

What for? Ain't nothing there you can't do for yourself on a stock HEI.

That's easy for you to say!

As I'm surfing the net looking for data on HEI conversion it appears you are considered a God in this aspect of motoring as you are referred to on more than one occasion on more than one site and noone has anything but praise for you - kinda hard to accomplish these days of instant gratification where the young ones get bent out of shape when they don't get a response within a millisecond of making request (I'm old enough to remember 6-8 weeks delivery from the coast and it was done by telephone, no fax, email ...) :)

It is easy, there ain't nothin' you can't do to your large cap HEI, that they do, just about every time, for less than them.

And, I'm definately no god, that's for damn sure, If I were, I'd have a big, high dollar bluff and blow manufacturing facility, like those other people you recommended do, instead of working out of a 17 x 21 foot hovel I do now.

Now, for the record, a street HEI would benefit from a good curving and adjustable vacuum advance, remote oil filled coil, and a good going through. STOCK GM 990 or NAPA TP45 module is just fine, same as Accel, Mallory, Borg-Warner, Sorenson, and other quality modules, and besides, the module isn't the rpm limiter, the coil is.

Sure, if you want to dilude yourself, there are those houses that will supply you with a high zoot super welder "Oh, we're such HEI gods" 16 volt HEI, for serious money over your building one that works just as well on daily driver setups, which is what MOST people have on this site. Daily drivers, NOT race only cars.

Also, I remember the only way to get me to do things was via coming to me in person or by phone only, as there wasn't e/mail and web sites, or even faxes. I also remember inventing a few suystems that others now build, and not patenting them, for lack of money, and being called a liar when I tell people the truth, that I did the first one. Mostly, if a person doubts me now, and we are in my shop, I just pull the first one ever made out of the storage bix it is in, and let them play with it, then show them the reciepts for the parts, with the dates on them. Usually makes the attitude change instantly.

I usually get flamed on web sites for letting people know there is an alternative that they may not be aware of, as in my stuff. I don't push my stuff on anybody, but if you don't know it exists, how can you make an educated decision, without ALL the options, can't. It ain't advertizing, it is just plain FYI. That's the truth.

Show me the place I pushed my stuff in this topic. Ain't there, just facts about large cap HEI that I know for sure..

Right on, I wasn't even thinking of the application I a daily driver for my oldest son), just updating it. I've changed my approach due to the vast pool of resources on the net, yourself included.

In my opinion, MSD module is waste of money, and I explained this in my post above.

Now, money much better spent for a large cap HEI nightmare is:

Good, sensible performance recurve from a reputable, knowledgeable shop, one that favors the engine/drivetrain package.

    Adjustable vacuum advance (Crane 99600-1)

    MSD 8401 coil cap adapter
    Accel 8140 coil w/bracket
    Section of coil wire

Get that epoxy junker coil out of the cap and use a sensible oil filled coil in its place, it'll make a much better setup.
