Need to move a few items 1. poston 110 cam used $75 2. Stefs oil pan with "peterson" remote oil pick up plate $300 no lines fittings are still in place tho 3. 8psi mechanical fuel pump $40 4. New "REED" 242 / 250 534/534 112lsa cam $125 5. two matching 1965 pontiac 389 carter AFB's rebuild ready to run originally intended for an OFFY 2x4 project $200 for the pair progressive linkage $45 6. auburn pro series 8.5 carrier needs clutches $75 may never give a prob on street tires but would let up on slicks these are 800lb rebuildable units 7. 850+cfm competition thermoquad primary bores have been opened up to plate dia but booster ring is untouched carb does not leak idles well for a early CS quad and has INSANE throttle response i however never could get it to pull hard on top , jetted to lean for my 575hp app would do great on a milder engine its jetted 77 primary and 145 sec has no vac control of secondaries just air valve spring in its tightest setting which worked suprisinly smooth no bog i do how ever have a vac diaphram for the air door that will go with it just dont have the rod which could be fabricated easily $200 just lookin to get my money back
i have no idea how to post pics i can sen pics via phone or email , i will say the pan has a somewhat thin pan rail it never leaked but it really needs to have the holes filed flat or i spoke to Stefs the other week and one of the techs said he could rework/reinforce the flange for about $125 not that its damaged but the pan was built in 2004 and i think theyve since went to a 1/4 in flange instead of the 1/8in this one has, the peterson plate will need to be either surfaced as the engine it was on suffered a sheared cam gear ie has a few score marks
yes for a 455 ,mr gasket i believe same thing TA sells im pretty sure, has clockable bowl and 85or 110 gph dont remember has maybe 10mins run time on it took it off to go electric years ago
pan was used for maybe 500miles then got shelf duty windage tray is obviously not in pic but i do have it as well as the hardware for it
Hugger... Would you please explain item #5: are these carbs a correct setup for a 2x4 intake? or are they basically two separate identical 1965 4V quads that YOU had intended to 'MAKE WORK' on a 2x4?o No: Wheelz, Tampa Bay
i was under the impression these use cones and NOT clutches and were not rebuildable except possibly by Auburn. is there a different pro series that uses clutches instead? if so i may be interested in yours
Carbs are just matching models not factory intended for a 2x4 setup I'm no afb man I just rebuilt them with the same calibration like 10yrs ago I'll look into the the posi bought it over 10yrs ago to replace the burnt up "auburn street series" I recall the reason for buying the pro series was that it was rebuildable it very well maybe a cone unit. I always assumed being rebuildable it would have been clutch, when it burnt up I went with a Eaton and never look back
What is going on with the oil pan? As far as the Auburn posi goes, it is the out side of the cone that wears allowing the cone to bottom out. The fix is to machine material off the small end of the cone then you shim under the side gear (big end) to make up for the material removed off the end of the cone so it doesn't bottom out any more.
