Basically heres the question, should i buy a go kart or save money for my next Buick? I know i could get the go kart for pretty cheap now, and throw in some money and mods, for year round use here in the midwest. The kart needs a new band brake, and a new bench seat. Otherwise the motor is brand new tires are worn down to (slicks) but are thick and could be used a while longer. Some upgrades would be larger tires, heavtier engine, front brakes, repaint the frame, maybe new floorpan, and maybe a new seat pad. Then when time comes for the buick i could sell this and be close to or for sure make a profit. Buying the go kart now would give me something to work on during free time and have fun/relax. o No:
What free time, arent you a Freshman or Sophmore now? LOL What kind of motor does that gokart have? Slawek
The Buick i'd be getting would already have a 455 stock, so no little A-body car. :Brow: (Sorry Skylark/GS/Sportwagon guys/gals)
You're talking about a go-kart and not a 4-wheeler right? How much is it? You can usually build your own for el-cheapo.
gokarts are so rough riding. It will kill your back and backside. Buddy has a whole fleet of off road stuff and no one ever wants to take the gokart. It was fun at first but the chain poppin mini bike was more fun. Even after I ended up pushing it back. If you really want one spend a bit more n get one with shocks.
Yes a go kart to start with. $200 to buy it. Cody i've looked into building one but they are pretty expensive, even without the motor. And buying one already made is even more expensive. Buick_350X it is a really bumpy ride in this go kart but off road isn't supposed to be smooth. It does hurt your butt alot so thats why i'd need another new bench seat or more padding. The steering and pedals were changed. Cut out and rewelded in different positions. The factory had stuck the steering wheel on the left side not middle, and yet there was a sticker on it saying only one rider. o No: Then the throttle slipped so we replaced that. And part of the band brake broke, which wasnt replaced yet to my knowledge. I gues i should just keep and save up more moeny for the Buick? o No: BTW: I have driven the cart because its a older friends.
If it works and doesn't need more than $50 worth of "fixing up" I'd say go for it. I always wanted a go-kart but since we never lived in the country, my dreams were dashed! Buy the kart and save any money you get after it for the car, then you'll have something to do while you save for the car.
What!!!! With a torch and a welder and the right amount of liquid catalist:beer anything is possible. I even saw a prostreet Yugo once:jd: It all goes to show you that if you get your new motor done and the car isn't don't invite your friends over to drink a few if you have any spare vehicles in your yard!!ou:
Save your money and buy the car later. You may not like that idea now, but you'll be much happier later on.
Dont do it...Save your money and get a nice car. Buy parts instead! I only wish I had done that instead of buying go-karts and the like when I was your age. When I bought my Riviera I sold all that stuff for next to nothing so I could fix up the new ride. Twenty years later, I still have the car and a bunch of great memories. Jason
