I'm new here, but not to cars in general. I just picked up a 65 skylark 2dr hard top. My first car was a 65 skylark convertible back in the late 70's. I had it until my second year of college before I killed it and sold it for $100. Dumbass..... Well. I never lost my love for them and am back on track. My "new" 65 is a v-6 and is in decent shape body wise. The Engine is too weak for what I want, The trim is removed and the holes welded up. ( I have the trim). I want to build a nice looking powerful vehicle out of her. Not looking for a perfect resto. I have a line on a well built 300, a pontiac 400, and a 401 nailhead for the mill. I'll probably stay with the 2 speed. From there wh knows, but I will make sure what goes in or on it will be as much Buick as I can. I'll be around asking Q's and such. Scott in SC
Thanks Clint, I'm in the Columbia area. St. Andrews. I've found a neat guy over near Camden that is a Buick guy. Another friend has done a few Same era Cutlas's, so I do have a few guys local.
Speaking of digging something up. I had a cousin that used to be big into Buicks. He go's by the handle of Rexxy. Does he post here by chance? Real cool guy. Scott in SC

Yeah I know. I needed to have my car in hand prior to posting. I did lurk a bit trying to get back up to speed on the 65's. Looked at the 64 as well, but just couldn't do it without the tail lights of the 65. It'd just be wrong for me. Clint probably has some good hay though. Being in Chesnee is close to the best SC has to offer topographicaly and weather wise. He gets some winter. In columbia it's hot 9 months of the year. The other 3 are fall, wet, and spring. This is great board, I'v had 3 welcomes and a lead on an engine allready. Not to mention the info I've allready seen. Say hey to the rest of the family. There's talk of a reunion this summer. The older folks are getting on up there.
