After 3 1/2 months of intence chemo and radiation treatment for neck, throat and lung cancer our prayers have been answered ! My son-in-law Steven (ex NYC Firefighter) has come out of a laproscopic surgery on his lung at Sloan in Manhattan. A biopsy was done on the small mass that was removed and it was binign. One week ago they also examined his neck and throat and there is no sign of any cancer in that area. Needless to say we are all thrilled that he has beaten this cancer and is 100% cancer free. He lost about 50 lbs and is good for about 4 hrs of energy each day and needs to regain his weight and strength. He's a fighter and has been going out on his boat fishing, claming and crabing with his two sons for the last couple of weeks. Although he has a hard time right now swallowing solid foods each day that improves. Spoke to him today and he is on "Cloud Nine" ! With periodic check ups and monitoring he should be O.K. and back to normal in no time. The Mooney family would like to thank our extended Buick family for all the good wishes and prayers that helped Steven to get through this very scary and rough period. Thank you all so much !
