I was quoted 3000.00 and the quarter would be in one coat of primer

That was to pit in a full factory quarter. That was an estimate which included removal of the old quarter. Replace the outer wheel housing and drop and repair the inner with a patch panel. Finish all the welds off and prime the panel. At almost 80.00 an hour you can see where the cash goes in a resto. I di have the interior stripped and all wiring removed along with the glass. Seems high to me. My car needed so much I decided to back half it with a rust free donor car

The time adds up quickly. I had a set of full floorpans put in Jennifer's Mustang GT over the summer. It took 40 hours. The floors were rotted past where the repros covered so some pieces were hand made. He took pity on me and charged me 60/hr. I could of bought a whole other Mustang GT for that, but thats another story.

You get what you pay for though.

For $3000 each side...............I would do these all day long and quit my real job!!!!!!!!

I worked in body shops for 17 years and never got paid $3K to hang a panel!!!!

I need to start doing side work out of my garage!!

It also matters whether the body mounts need work and any other repairs that have to be made. Its not a new car therefore nothing is what it seems from the outside. Jason is correct time adds up very quickly! Thats what I charge is $60 per hour on older cars. Every car has its own problems too. The quality of the parts you are suppling, the previous damage that has been repaired (or in most cases not repaired). The variables are endless. Then we get cars that have been wrecked, and not repaired correctly and rusty all at once. I could go on for ever about this subject. Dont get me started about the time it takes to hand fabricate stuff that you cant buy.

Does this mean I can make 3000 dollars in two days? Or even one long day if I was really motivated?

    Wow, sign me up.

I've seen your garage. You don't have enough room to put quarters on a matchbox car in there.:bla:
