Well I certainly wouldn't recommend tuning your car in rush hour traffic, in the rural suburbs of a small town with children playing along 35 mph streets, or within a hilly region or any other environment that limits line of sight... Gotta play it smart, duh. Gary
Not too far off the mark! lol Here's a fine example of how I like to test/tune a car: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGYg5GuLqXY Gary
Now That! Was a great movie Gary. Gotta love those old Bud Lindemann movies on the muscle cars. Watching those in the old days was the highlight of my day. How about the Rockford Files turn around with the big Century. Look how that big block keeps it drifting through the corners, see we were drifting way before it was popular. Bud had to do a movie on the 70 GSX. Your right Gary, That's the way to tune up the car LOL. Sound like fun to me.
I've watched those old muscle car tests that Bud Lindemann narrated on You Tube, over and over. Seeing those old bias ply tires nearly peal off the rims, and rockers practically scraping the ground is AWESOME! The reverse spin and braking test are the best thop The review they did on the late 60's Impala with the 396 (I think) wasn't very complimentary tho, I believe it was a 2 bbl
Haha, glad y'all got a kick outa it. Not to hijack the thread or anything, but here's another good one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVo9U89liic Gary
0-60 in 9 secs. is pretty damn respectable for a 4500 lb car:TU: I wonder if they turned the AC off I think I've watched all the Buick tests
It was just over 5 seconds for 0-50. I guess that extra 10 MPH added 4 seconds because of the 46 hp loss after shifting the TH400 into second gear? Not just a 4500 lb. car, but a low compression stock car. The Centurion was the B body successor to the Wildcat after 1970, and was available from '71-'73. I always liked those cars. It was essentially a LeSabre with a big block. I know in '68 (I had a '68 LeSabre), the main difference between the LeSabre and Wildcat was the LeSabre only came with a 350 and the Wildcat only came with the 430. They changed that in 1970 I think, when they allowed the new 455 to be put into the LeSabres (and Wildcats too, of course). Sorry about hijacking the thread. I'll stop now so you can resume your regular postings. Gary
