Hey all, finally got my cam from Comp for the Stage 1. Here are the specs Int. Exh. Lobe Sep. Dur. 277 283 110 Lift .516" .525" What do you all think??? Anyone out there running a cam with the specs close to this??? Should be nice just like to know. Thanks Gerald
In order to even attempt to compare cams, you need the duration at .050 lifter rise. Those look like advertised duration numbers.
my 113A is close with 332,346 duration, should have at least 9.5 to 1 comp. will need at least a 2000 stall, also stage one valve springs, if you build your moter to handle it you can rev a cam like that past 6000 rpm. i SHIFT AT 6000 RPM.
Ouch! Poor valvetrain. Those look like Comps XE profiles, numbers 5446 and 5447. Extremely fast valve action. It will be noisy, similar to a solid. The Chevelle board has lots of posts with guys discussing noise with these cams. Those aggressive profiles are also hard on the valvetrain. With the intake valve closing so early due to the fast action, a static CR of 10.25:1 is the max you can run to keep your DCR under 8.25:1 (required for 93 octane).
Will I be able to run power brakes with this cam??? If not I'll be getting a vaccum canister. As for the springs I'll me getting the matching springs from Comp.
Yes, you will be able to run power brakes. Since the Comp 910 springs won't take those lift numbers, they will prob give you big block chevy springs, which will require machining the spring pad on the head, and different retainers. The TA stage1 super spring will fit with no machining and uses stock retainers. Will also stand the extra lift.
