    Mick,

I think it will look better if you remove the remains of that emblem, most LeSabre, Wildcat and Electras from that year have lost their emblems and are driving around with two holes at the front.

PS: When I lived in St. Kilda, Garden State plates had green digits (3 letters-3 numbers) instead of the blue ones on your car :Do No:

I'll see how it looks when i clean off the remains, maybe fill the holes.
the plates are still the plates from tasmania. so your'e a local boy?

any advice on the unleaded fuel question, before the next fill-up?

1970 engine has a higher compression, but I don't really think that there is a difference between valve seats in later unleaded fuel heads

I know about a lot of 1970 Rivieras running on LPG (no lead) here in the Netherlands, trouble-free motoring.

we're phasing out the lead replacement fuel, so all that will be left is un-leaded. i guess i'll keep going till the lpg upgrade, but i know it doesent like un-leaded, unless its the high octane stuff. pings under load. i'll suffer the added expense. (or drive wife's hyundai)

Welcome to the site Mick! Very nice hearse.
I was having problems with the TA site yesterday as well, you may have to try again.
I thought a board member Jim Schlif (not sure of spelling)had made a repop of the emblem. search around, he also is @ www.buick.org site.

    Luck to you, Ted

Try living in Perth......the most isolated big city on planet earth :bglasses:

I drove the Nullarbor highway on my way up there, couldn't believe how fast the flight back to Adelaide was....

Try to get hold of a HEI ignition when changing to LPG, it needs a better spark.

took the hearse last night to a gig my band played at in a country town about 80 miles from home last nite. one of the main reasons i bought it was to fit all the gear we need, and iv'e got some pretty big gear (2 bass bins & amps etc.) Our singer who purchased all the p.a. equip. but only drives a mazda MX-5/miata needed help with his stuff too. usually, weather permitting, i'll take my ford F-350, or borrow a van, but last night was the big test. it took an hour to load, but we got everything in, with 2 foldback monitors on the roof. the car sat about 3 inches lower, the parking indicator thingy that hangs down behind the front wheel was rubbing in the depressions in the road, but the tyres weren't scrubbing.
on the highway, it easily sat on 60 mph no problem, quietly humming away, and through the hills, lost no revs, and never kicked down to 2nd. it was truly awesome the power of this thing.
the only concern was yet another exhaust leak developed on the way home (i've patched 2 already). the exhaust gasket must be perishing, but another patch will do until it's time gor the headers.
yeah, i think i'll keep it...
