What's the best way to fix cracks and paint?

Took the grill off my 72 GS because it had cracks that were getting worse.
Figured I could just clean it up and use jb weld or something to fix the cracks, then sand it a little bit and spray paint it black again.

Is there a certain type of spray paint I need to use?

I use gorilla brand super glue to glue the plastic back together. The trick is to make sure the two pieces are perfectly clean. I use JB weld as bondo to fill in crevices and to make small pieces that are missing. I use blue painters tape as a backing and pour the JB into the area. It sands just like bondo. So special paint needed, I use Rustoleum dull aluminum or satin black. Its slow and tedious work. I must have 15 hours into a spare 72 grill I have fixing it and piecing it back together

I just restored a 72 grill. I used a plastic welder from Harbor Freight (looks like a big soldering iron) to close up the cracks, then epoxy panel bond adhesive to reinforce/fill the imperfections. I also used semi-gloss Rustoleum "roll bar and chassis paint" to finish it off.

I have repainted 2 1972 GS a-body grills, several years ago. It is a tedious & slow process. Takes longer to tape each section than to actually paint. I believe that three different colours were spray (rattle can) painted. There is actually several old threads on this subject.

Does anyone have pictures of a correctly colored 72 GS grill?

I hear you guys saying there are three colors, but that's not what I see.
On any of the pics I can dig up, the most I am seeing is 2 colors. The thick part around the perimeter is like some aluminum color, and everything else looks black.

I understand, now, that the grill was not originally all black. The previous owner did that.
So I was thinking I'd need to get some kind of maybe flat aluminum and black spray paints. (Although I may just take the lazy option and spray the whole thing black again)
