I sure am getting tired of opening an ad proclaiming an original car only to find out it's been repainted. A recent one I looked at claimed the car to be "original and correct" even though it was a repaint and the convertible top color had been changed. The real offender is one that claimed the car had been "perfectly refurbished to original condition". Ummm, no. I wish these guys would take the time to learn the terminology of the business that they're in. End of rant.

I agree. I hate it when you see someone talking about a car and said it is completely restored. Then they say it is restomod. With an LS swap, pro-touring suspension etc. or worse, They call it 100% stock yet it has Crager S/S on it. Nope sorry un uh.

I like the term - refurbished for those type cars.

Sorry, the camera broke/got dropped into a volcano/was stolen/ran out of digital film/was hit by a random electromagnetic pulse.

...Believe me, if I ever did that to a Rolls, I’d deserve complete banishment from every automotive forum on the internet.

I saw just yesterday an ad for a
1995 Ford F-150 XL. not a top of the line , but not a base model either .
The ad touted the ‘95 F-150 as ‘rare’...

1995 Model year , Ford sold 691,000 F-150. It was the top selling vehicle for 1995.

I knew about that one. I read somewhere that Peter Max designed the paint scheme. I’ve always liked his work, and own several original paintings of his. That Roller is worth a huge amount of $$, so I doubt it’ll be in my garage anytime soon.

Nice! Yes, I think you are correct on that. I sure looks like his work...remember it was such a news item back then...days of innocence, I guess.

    Cheers!

There was a local guy advertising his car as all original. Yet underneath that his board said motor and trans have been rebuilt, interior redone, repaint a few years ago, and suspension rebuilt.
