Hey Vinnie, dont sweat Rich. He doesnt own a Buick, and hasnt been to an event since he stabbed himself in the eye with a clothes hanger. Lol

What gets me is, if this were a thread about the BPG it would have vanished days ago. FACT.

That is really interesting, why in the world would my name be brought up at the Nationals for any reason at all? I havent been to Bowling Green since 2008. I would have no problem coming back and racing there or anything else, but like i said in my first post, they would have to change the people in charge before i would ever do that again. My point is that with what they have in running it right now the same thing happens year in and year out. It is not fair to the racers that put all this money, vacation time, and effort into our cars to have the same thing over and over again happen to them, If not this incident with Wayne, it would have been something else.
I cant say if i have ever spoken to Richard before or not, but this is his club and he is face of it. He needs to make the changes that will fix these problems and have an event that runs smooth and to fix the problems when they happen. Not wait till months after the event is over and everyone is calmed down, fix it while it is on everyone's mind We all know you cant please everyone all the time, but address it before threads like this happen and make the event look bad again.

Renee put hours upon hours into our event when she was the race director, and did everything run smooth as silk....no, but we addressed it right then and there. If it was a track problem, we addressed it because we were the customers paying to rent the track and damn well better get what the club was paying for.
Maybe if the problems are fixed and the people are changed I will being the race car back down to the Nationals and race, but until something is done to fix these problems, NO thank you.

Just my opinion, and i know, opinions are like assholes, everyone has one.

Didn't read this entire thread, but has anybody mentioned the pitiful payouts this year? Briz won his class and got $300 cash and a $100 gift card. Cecil's gambler's races paid more!!!!!

The payouts for my class were generated by ME... The track and the GSCA pay nothing .All the winnings were sponsors handing me their cash/ gift certificates and misc. I paid $1000 cash to win plus 700 in gifts to the winner total $1700 , runner up got 400+200 total $600, 3rd 4th got $100 EACH, 5th6th got $50 each .No Buy in was required and only had 2 weeks to work on that due to not being approved by GSCA to run in BG until 2 weeks before.I also bought the trophies and paid hard luck money to the racer of my choice $100 out of my own pocket

BSA paid $850 cash and $100 TA gift cert to win and $300 cash and $50 TA gift cert to ru. Plus two trophies that I built myself. Both guys seemed very pleased with their winnings.

You must be thinking of the other classes and their payouts. You do know gamblers races require a cash buy in dont you? Thats why its called a "gamblers" race.

    Hi Rich
Thank you for your insightful analysis of the final run in S-16.
I don't know if you were there or not but if you were you would have seen this whole situation play out.
I don't need to defend my relationship with Wayne,if you want to learn more about it contact Wayne.
As I explained, while in the staging lanes I was informed by the staging person to saddle up or be DQ'd.
I moved to the bridge shut the car down and waited till the girl there moved me forward.
After doing my burn out, as directed by the starter,I backed up and shut the car down again,if you were there you would have noted that, I opened the door, again if you were there you would have noted that, and told the starter I was waiting.
He directed me to start and move to the starting line. I made the Bye-run pass.
Wayne and I were looking forward to lining up together which would have been maybe the best race of the day.
I don't know what more I could have done, maybe your insightfulness could tell me what I should have done, what would you have done?

My point to you concerned your desire to call out Richard for not being hands on. And you don't know this a a non attendee, which I tried to point out to you in a simple manner explaining how he is hands on at the event. It is very easy for you to be a keyboard bandit on the board when you don't know what is done at the Nationals except for what you read here. If you don't like being called out for things you don't know, don't use your keyboard to make improper statements. I don't need to know you to understand the difference between reality and someone sharing false information. Add to your knowledge and plan to attend next years GS Nats to see how Richard is around and in involved in the event. We can even have a beer and chat about how we love Buicks !

I doesn't matter what I would have done. You did what you thought was right . Congrats on the win.

  15. So.. If Richard is all over the event and so easily found why wasn't he aware what was going on with "His Event" and dealing with it while it was happening? I saw the video of qualifying on Saturday and the offending staff was an asshole long before the finals.

Ok folks, let's move on. I trust that sufficient light and heat as been directed at the issue, to insure it will not happen again.
