GS or not??

    1966 Skylark....is there something in the serial number that says its a GS or not?...a number or letter?? :Do No:

    LoL...I just looked a some other post and found were the numbers were all broke down, just a 2dr hardtop...but it has GS front, may have been wrecked at some point, the GS had the vents behind the front wheels correct?...and grilles in hood?

    Hi James,

    The VIN tag was attached to the left front body hinge pillar directly below the upper door hinge. The second and third numbers are the series..you will see a "46" denoting it's a 1966 GS.

    This info was taken directly from Year Ones 2001 catalog so I hope it's accurate.

    I think that info is accurate, but then again, according to YO's 2001 catalog, no 1970 Skylarks or GSs were built at Flint- they just omitted the code altogether:Dou:
