That funky return heater hose that wraps around and over the valve cover is not available (in my area anyway).

So here's a solution and it looks like it came from the factory this way.
Purchase a Dayco hose PN 87679 and an elbow fitting to replace the stock one in the manifold. Cut the ends of the hose and it fits perfectly. Here is the result.

    Hi Harvey,

Looks like you're at the stage of completing the mechanicals on the '67.
Have you got a GM pn for the heater return hose? I've had some success with Collectors Auto Supply in Peachland in finding obsolete GM parts. But, what you've done looks fine. Good tip!

    Talk later,

    Nando.

That looks great Havery. I know I had an issue with the 455 in my 64 but found a hose in a junkyard out of a full size buick with AC to make it work.

I've never seen a heater core routed to that position. My 400 had the hoses from the front top of the intake going to the core, not the rear. :Do No:

I'm thinking this may be for 67 only. I had a 67 442 that had the same rear inlet.

    I see.

More than one way to skin a cat I guess. I think that port on the intake is on all the 400-455 intakes though because I have one on mine in that same position but its plugged.

Update on this hose. It's a Dayco NOT Gates.
    Sorry

    Hi Harvey,

Will you be going to the car show at the Tradex this Sunday? I began a thread on the board regarding any interest amongst board members in meeting at the show.
I plan to drop by Joe H.(Joe's GSX) in Maple Ridge on my way to the show.

    Talk again,

    Nando.

No, I'm running out of weekends to get the GS ready for Puyallup. Plus the lawns are getting a bit high so I've got to deal with them also. I've got 2 acres to mow!

Well, that's enough to keep you busy. Would love to see how your GS 400 has come along.

    Take care,

    Nando.

    Ray,
It's the name of a little town east of Seattle. They host an all Buick show every year around the middle of June.

    Nando,
Maple Ridge is about a 30 minute detour to Abbotsford if you want to stop by. I will definitely be around doing either car work or yard work!!

    Harvey,

Will do. If you can PM me your street address, and the phone # you can best be reached at, I'll call you on Sunday. I'm thinking of dropping by after taking in the show: 3-4 p.m., if that'll work out for you.

    Nando.

Harvey I didnt see this but today I found this hose at CarQuest and will need a 90 and it should work.

Here is a picture of the one in the 64 from a 67 Electra with A/C that I cut and I layed a new in the GS400 and will get a 90 elbow next week to make it work. Its a Carquest hose19064. The current hose runs all the way up to the front of the intake as somebody else noted.
