just needing opinions on a couple colors as my car is due for a paintjob...probly wont get it til later 08 early 09 though..

but to start things off.. i have a 72 lark that i beleive is burnished copper with saddlewood interior.

now i'm kind of going with my own version of the gsx, got stenstil kit w/o the gsk emblems, have fg gs good along with front and rear spoilers.
i didnt bother with grille as i beleive 72 didnt have a gs specfic grille..

my choices are burnished copper, cortez gold and maybe flame orange

So are you asking to pick between those 3 or throw in our 2 cents?

    Hi Mike,
I would vote for burnished copper as it would look unique. My Skylark's original color is burnished cinnamon and I added gloss black GSX stripes and used cream (sandalwood) pinstriping right against the black stripes to make them pop off the paint (the cream pinstriping also matches my interior). Here are a few pics of my car's exterior:

Obviously I am biased to the Cortez Gold.

Your correct about the grille not being GSX specific and your grille is right for a GS so just paint it correctly and put in an emblem. If you have dark brown I would go with one of the approved colors for that interior . Have fun with it.

i'm not going to put any gs/x emblems on as its not a true gsx but rather my own version of it, i just like how the stensil kit and spoillers look on the car, and when i find a sport mirror i'm thinking on only going to put a ds mirror on...like the no pass mirror look

Mike, Cortez Gold used in '71 and '72. Sales code Q, Serv. code 53. 1 of 5 color choices in '71 for GSX option. Joe.

When I went to get some paint there are two variations of the Cortez Gold available. They are pretty close but I prefer the lighter version. When I gave them the code they asked me which shade. Check it out. They may have been loopy but I have both in spray cans and you can tell a difference.

My car was repainted circa 1980 and the lighter color matched better than the darker. If you want the codes I think I have the cans sitting around. R/M paint.

That color looks like the darker shade but hard to tell without being in the sun.
