Hi Brad, It has been a rough year so far. I lost my son Clinton on 1/10/05 due to a auto accident. You know he loved cars as much as I do. We had hope to find a older Wildcat (like Bill Burtons) for him and I to redo. If you remeber at the 83 Nationals Bev was pregnant with Clinton. That was his first Nationals with many to follow. On a good note I am now a Grandfather of two great kids ( Zachary and Carlee). Lindsey had twins on 9/20/04. I think I'll be at this years National. Talk to you later. Zach
Oh jeez, Zach. I am so sorry for your loss. Please accept my deepest sympathy. You and yours are in my thoughts and prayers. Keep in touch. Brad
Thanks Brad, I have thought about posting something on this site and others to let my Buick friends know, but I still have a tough time talking about this. I even have thought about calling to get something in the GSCA newsletter. Clint would have really liked that. Maybe with time I'll be able to do this. I know that you are on several sites. Could you please let others know. Thanks for your prayers, Zach
There used to be guy here in Texas that had a car like that. He was actually going around to shows passing the car off as the real thing. Only thing wrong was the date code was out of range for when the GSX's went down the line. Boy would he get pissed off when I pointed that out to people! I understand the car went up north somewhere. I wonder if it's still around and the owner thinks it's real? An other way of verifying an "X" is to look at the sport mirror brackets on the doors. The mirror brackets will have an "X" stamped in them. Also, both of the X's I've owned had a big "A9" written in crayon on the firewall behind the engine. I wrote an article that Rich published in the GSX-Tra several years ago. You'll have to read that to find out how else to I.D. a true "X". I'm sure since then several more I.D. methods have come to light.
I have a 1970 10 10 Stage 1 4 Spd. Now Stage 2 4 Spd I believe this is the way this car should have been built. I did take out the original engine and rear which were the only original parts left of the drive line, maybe when I am 80 I will put them back in. In the mean time if I ever get the car on the road I am going to drive it like it was STOLEN!!!!
QQ Gsx No papers no documents no problem just a very nice car Stage-1 soon to be a Stage-2 with Dual Quads :Brow: It will be fun.
! have a 70 QQ Stage 1 4speed car. Unrestored, but decent appearing. I had it at and even raced it at this year's Nationals and had a half dozen people ask if I was interested in selling it. It runs low 13's but is more fun to race than my 10 second T-Type!
70 QQ Stage 1 4 speed. Mostly original paint. decent shape. No air - few options except power steering, radio and rear speaker. Not number matching - but have a "correct" date cast 70 engine. We've owned it since 1990. The X has been in GSCA club for decades. Owned by GSCA Loyd Luther in the 70's & 80's. We love it and drive it whenever it's nice out! Paul
I remember seeing your car many times at the Nats when Lloyd owned it.After his move to the west coast he still brought it to BG,he and his buddy took their 2 week vacation and drove cross country to be in BG each year.Hes a great buick guy,I think I saw him again at BG a few years ago, don't know what he drove though. You have a nice "X". gary
Thanks Gary. We've seen Loyd at the Nationals every year. He has a real nice 71 gold GSX, a 70 GS Stage 1 and a 64 or 65 Riviera. All his cars are very nice and I'm sure he has more than these (but maybe does not want his wife to find out). He is a great Buick guy and I'm lucky he had a temporary "brain cramp" when he sold my GSX back in 85 or we wouldn't have it today!
