Check out what I got today in my email: Now, don't you think I'd have to dign off on something like that? Besides, the attached file was a virus. It doesn't really help their case any to know that I am the owner of www.buickpartsdirectory.com Did anyone else get this?o No:
I've heard of this going on. I even got a couple of hoax email from my internet provider. I was warned before i got them. below is what my provider DID send me: Dear Sunflower Broadband Customer, As you may have heard, there are several new computer viruses spreading around the Internet. These viruses always forge the From: information so that the E-mail appears to be from a person who did not actually send the message. They do this to make it more difficult for everyone to find the computer that is really infected. Some of these viruses also attempt to get you to open their infected attachments by pretending to be your Internet service provider. The virus simply replaces a few key phrases with the domain portion of your E-mail address. In your case that would be sunflower.com. The message usually says that your E-mail account is going to be disabled and is crafted to look like it is coming from Sunflower Broadband. There are several variations in the wording of the messages but most of them are signed with the phrase "The Sunflower.com team http://www.sunflower.com". Please note that no legitimate automatic message, system notice, or other general E-mail correspondence from Sunflower Broadband will ever contain an attachment. We also never refer to ourselves as the "Sunflower.com team". Any links we provide in our E-mails will be to www.sunflowerbroadband.com and not www.sunflower.com. If you do not have Anti-Virus software for your computer we strongly suggest purchasing some to protect yourself and your data. Sunflower Broadband customers who become infected with viruses may have their service suspended until the virus can be cleaned off. We do this to help prevent further infections on our network and the Internet as a whole. Most of our customers use either Norton or McAfee Anti-Virus software. These products can be purchased at most businesses where software is sold. Sunflower Broadband Staff
