Well, near 6 months later and over $2 grand in parts. Plus several oil leaks, bad fuel pump bolt holes and that damn lifter ticking!!! I finally tore the engine down and put in a new cam, lifters, fuel pump, water pump, trans cooler and new TA timing cover. I installed many of those parts new back in FEB of this year and have been dissapointed with the out-come every since. Turns out, the lifters were bad and the wrong ones. The timing cover was worn and needed re threading. I never took the time to detail the engine compartment like I wanted. So, this time the thing looks good. Blasted many little parts and painted with clear coating. Stripped the paint off the Performer intake and just clear coated it. Did the core support and all items hooked to it. Pulled the items off the firewall and detailed them. MSD ignition along with a custom set of wires. Fired it up about 3 hours back and was thrilled to hear a quiet engine after a few minutes. Sounds great too!! I tried a Poston cam this time. TA got most of my money this year. No leaks either! Just a happy person finally. I will sleep good tonight. Glad my buddy Roger was in to help this time. Heck of a mechanic. Good to have 2 heads instead of just mine!:3gears:

It doesn't weigh much with all those broken chunks missing! My buddy would lean up against it while working on the car:shock: . I was just waiting for another crack. Those things are brittle.

Just ordered a repo. overflow tank to top all that work off. I saw Frank's creation in the Repo. section and had to have one. Great to have dedicated people like that to help us maintain our Buicks. Plus, I would never pay $700 for a NOS one!
