Does anyone out there know if on a 340 if the two holes on the surface of the block and under the heads located near the top center are supposed to be open or not. I recieved a head gasket set from Autozone and when I test fitted them they covered up two holes on each head and block surface that appear to be water passage ways to cool the heads. The books I have on Buicks are useless on diagrams. I was just wanting to know before I covered up something that was supposed to be uncovered or is it something they changed and just sesal over? ou:
