Ok, I have a 72 Skylark with a 350 engine and TH350 trans. I have rebuilt the motor and trans and I am soon ready to put it back into the car. My question is can I bolt the transmission onto the engine along with the headers and slip the whole assembly into the car as a single unit?
Or do I need to drop the motor/trans combo into a close position and then install the headers?
What is the best way to do this?
    Thanks

I've never done tried fitting it in as a complete assembly like that before, but I have doubts that the headers would fit in from the top. I think the biggest obstacle would be fitting them in past the upper a-arms.

One thing I had to do on my '71 skylark, was to slightly move a metal fuel line (might have been a vapor return line, not sure) on the passenger side, it's on the frame where it curves up towards the a-arm mount. Just tweaking the line slightly by hand afforded enough clearance to fit the headers in.
