Ok I have a 1971 gs 455 that I am working on. I was thinking about ways to bump up the horse power. I was thinking long flow headers to keep the car a little quieter I hear short headers are louder. I would like to put new exshast on it as well. Is their any companys that sell a complete do it your self kit with this kind of setup. Also is their any other little horse power tricks that I could do. Also do you gus think this is a bad idea because its a 4 speed car. Do yo think it would hurt the value that much. Any help would be great :beer
I'd go shortys They will be no louder than full, but will not bottom out over curbs & bumps on the street. Now if you are racing, go full. To quiet things, install an "X" pipe and choose your muffers accordingly.:3gears:
Get the headers from T/A Performance, then go to summit racing and order the flowmaster system for $200 and add the muffler of choise. The only thing you will need to do is take the ruducers to a muffler shop and have it expanded so the 2 1/2" pipe will fit inside it..........a total bolt on in your driveway.....and i dont think you can beat the price on the 2 1/2"......good luck
