Hi, does anyone know what that tar-like substance is that is used to seal around the tubes on the AC box? I have a gasket set for the box itself but I'm trying to put the correct sealer around the tubes to restore the box properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. o No:
it's called evaporator bulb sealant or expansion valve or bulb sealant (or something like that)....comes in rolls with the material layed over a strip of wax-like paper so it won't stick to itself and rolled up. Might try a local auto parts store or local auto ac repair place. You just wrap it around and then compress it with your hand....that's why it has that odd look to it on cars it's already installed on. Patton
