    Hi,

Seem like a lot of nice people here that seems like everyone is helping everyone.
A least from where I'm sitting (Boston), it looks like that.

Slowly bringing the GS back to life.
It's driving awesome but only looks good from a distance.
Needs paint and it will be a real head turner(again).

I am putting a Delco Buick (from a 69GS) back in the GS.
The AM/FM seems just a bit steep for now.
I have 3 wires hanging from the dash (white - yellow - black, I believe).
The radio has a 3 slot female connector built into the back of the radio.
I see a "wire repair plug" on EBAY with a 3 prong male connector . Is it as simple as attaching the repair plug wires to the dash wires and plugging it in? You may have guessed, I am not real handy, but I am trying.

    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jim From Boston.

Welcome from MA. The radio....the most important thing is that you know it works. There are only 3 components, the radio, the speaker, and the antenna + lead wire (built into the windshield). Because the speaker faces up, many cars that have sat, often the speakers are no good from the sun cracking them (replacements are available. The repair plug is what you need to splice back in. Yellow is power (+). The other wires are speaker and ground. You will need to trace them back, I think they should be green + black. I like to test the radios before installing. Put a new bulb in them so I can tell if they are working! Finally, an AM or FM radio should be "trimmed" (adjusted) after installing. Stay away from any Ebayer or person who says " It might work, or it might not".

    Frank,

Thanks for the info. I was not aware the yellow was the power. I agree that I probably should not have bought it. It was $80 and is AM only. I think I'll go ahead and buy the repair wire. What's another $18 at this point? I don't even know if it works. The other thing I am unsure of is the blue wire connector coming out of the radio. Not sure what that plugs into. Also, is the bulb on the top side of radio under the washer looking thing with a white wire running out of it and over to the off/on switch?
    Thanks again.

    Jim.
