    Hi,
I am new to Buicks and am looking at a 1970 Skylark. I can purchase the car for a reasonable price and think I will. However he has a GS hood and a floor shifter and console, and also an air cleaner base with no top, just the bottom however it has two short snorkels? and also a 4bbl intake as extra parts he wants to sell. He claims these parts are all from a 1970 stage one he parted out several years ago, and have been sitting in his barn for several years.

I am not sure what these parts are worth, so I am asking for a little help from this board. I have had several Oldsmobiles over the years and I do know the Oldsmobile ram air hoods today will fetch 1000.00 or more, but I am not sure if the Buick ram air hoods bring a lot less or about the same or more. The hood is in nice shape and does have the inserts in the scoops. The console is nice, and the shifter and cable look decent. The 4 bbl intake looks to small to me to be off of a 455 motor, and it is also cast iron. I am not sure if the stage cars had cast intakes or aluminum? and what numbers would be on the cast iron intake that I should look for.

Any help on the value of these parts before I go back over there tomorrow afternoon would be great. I would like to purchase the parts, but I do not want to overpay for them since he know I know very little about the price of Buick parts.
    Thanks,
    Tom

A good hood will bring about $400, the console and shifter I don't know, the aircleaners bring $200/250 in good shape but I wouldn't think that what he has is worth a lot unless the plastic extensions that mate to the hood are there. As far as the intake the Stage 1 used the same intake as the ordinary 455s, I've seen them anywhere from come and get, it's free to $100. Good luck.

A 70 455 intake is cast iron with raised numbers of 1231718 E

    A 70 Buick 350 intake ( 4 barrel) is cast 1231924.
