    Hello,
I been working on the front Brakes on my 64 skylark, I have new shoes, new wheel cylinders, and all new hold down and return spring hardware, and turned drums, My issue is there too tight. I have the adjuster adjusted in as lose as possable and still to tight. I have the big shoes facing the back, and the adjusters facing the rear as well. I looked the looed up al the parts myself and pulled them myself so Im sure I have the right parts, Anyone ever had an issue like this or heard of it, Is there any way to correct it besides returning the drums to take more material off

Shawn, I have run into this with some brands of shoes. Some brands are not pre arced (machined) and have too much friction material.
Make sure the shoes are completely seated at the top anchor bolt. Sometimes there is so much paint on the shoe web that it cannot seat completely.
I have also seen wheel cylinder pistons that are stuck or difficult to move. Some of the assembly lube used lately tends to get gummy and prevents the piston from sliding smoothly.

If both shoes are seated against the anchor pin tightly, take the shoes back and get a brand name. ie. Wagner or Raybestos. They will cost a little more but are pre arced.

    Good luck!
