I have used f/glass from this guy on a few different occassions.
    His name is Walt Sauri.

Real Street is getting pretty crazy,3 or 4 cars have been in the 8's.
I have the car, just need another 200 HP or so.
Good luck, can't wait to see the car when it's ready.

    Hi Wayne.

OPG (Original Parts Group) lists a fiberglass hood in their catalog for a '70 GS. Part # is S210042. My catalog is about 1 year old, but it lists the price as $599.95. It requires lighter hood hinge springs, which they also have, part # G200016 @ 49.95/pr.

Here is their phone # if interested: 1-800-243-8355.

    Hope this helps.

    VFN bumpers

Last summer I bought both bumpers for my 70 GS from VFN. They were really decent looking but will require a little more finishing work to get them looking real nice but, I was dissappointed in the fact that they had no provisions to mount the taillights or turn signals.Since I wanted to try to retain the stock appearance,I will have to make some mounting brackets so I can put the light housings in. No biggie but thought you wouyld like to know.

:beer Thank you very much, I had no clue were to look.
Real street will allow a Buick G.S. to be as little as 3125#
if I am reading the rules right. So MAYBE 8s can be had
if I can get the weight off.

    Thanks again, Wayne

Tom I dont have an actual weight but I have both a 71/72 style(no holes for the rubber trim) front bumper complete with the fiberglass mounting brackets aswell as the same for the rear and you can pick up both with one hand and not strain at all.

Believe it or not a friend and I bought a parts car that had a f/g 3 inch pin on hood, f/g pin on deck lid, both the front and rear bumpers as mentioned above and the front and rear gsx spoiler/wing combo. Oops lets not forget the hood tach too or the lightweight buckets and a totally gutted interior.:Dou:

I'm not sure if there is a difference in weight between a '72 and a '70.
My stock '70 front bumper weight was 27 LBS.
My new fiberglass one from WS Racing Fiberglass weighs 3 LBS.
    Savings of 24LBS:TU:

WS Racing is making a '72 bumper for me right now. I was wondering where you got the fiberglass brackets?

    Michael,
If you know of a good tinsmith or even a duct guy in your area, you can take your stock mounts to him and ask if he can duplicate them in aluminum or heavy sheet metal. Should'nt be that hard to mock up a set:Smarty:

    fiberglass bumper brackets

According to the guy I bought the car from both the bumpers and brackets came from a guy up in canada. If I can find my el cheapo digital camera I'll post a couple of pics.

When I first saw the car it had the f/g bumpers on it painted body color and they looked good. By the time I got the car they had been painted with rattle can chrome and basically looked like crap!:Do No:
