Hi everyone, A while back I purchased a 1970 GS hood for my Skylark. The hood did not have the hood scoop grill inserts, only the holes where they would go and three tabs in each one (one long tab with two holes to screw into, and two short tabs - one on each side with one hole each to screw into). My question is this, do the hood scoop grills screw directly into the tabs? Or is there supposed to be another metal insert that screws into the tabs and then the hood scoop grill fits into that? Any help would be most appreciated. Cheers, Chris
You have 3 parts to the "scoop" metal grill scoop insert scoop sealing plate Grill has 4 studs that go through the insert and are held in place with 4 nuts. Scoop insert is held in place by 3 screws. Sealin plate is held in place by 4 screws.
>>Do you know where I can purchase repro or used metal grills, scoop inserts and the scoop sealing plates? Chris
www.postonbuick.com will carry the scoop inserts and plates. I think the Year 1 has the grills but I am not sure.
Thanks guys for all your information on the parts for my GS hood. I'll order the necessary parts from Poston and Year One. Chris
