I'm preping a 67 Special for paint and want to know what technique is used to remove the side molding on the doors and quarters. This is the molding that runs from the portholes to the rear at the gas fill door level. I know there are screws on the ends, but I am interested in the best way to pop the molding off the clips without damaging the molding.

    Thanks - Bill

Bill the only way I know of on the rear sail panel is to remove the the nuts for the very rear 8" molding. Then pry upward in the middle of the long sail moulding with your fingertips while prying the top of the moulding out with the figertips of your other hand. It should pop right off the clip. Then work your both ways untill the only one retained is the very front clip behind the door. It is usually a buggar so I open the door and slightly move the molding forward and pry it off the same way.
In the door for the little 2" molding there is 2 nut that needs to be removed. Sometimes it is 2 screws. I do not recall if the long molding on the door has any nut or screws to be removed. I think there might be. Best check it out. This might sound dumb but you need the window up before disassebling the door to access the nuts/screws.
If any clips or hardware breaks let me know. I have a few sets of these mouldings.

Thanks Ray! Any tricks to get the portholes off?

Unless the fenders are off the car I would mask them. They are retained by 3 nuts a foot apart. The middle nut you can get to easy enough from the engine bay but the front one and especially the one in front of the door are pretty inassessible.
