Hey guys bellow I have two trans options they are listed as 1. A 67 coupe deville and 2. A 66 Eldorado. The 67 does not look like a bop pattern. What do you say?

The send one the 66 Eldorado does, take a look at it and does it look like the switch pitch?

Well the guy that told you which trans is which has them mixed up. The '66 and older bell housing pattern was different than the BOPC pattern until '67 when the General changed it to the BOPC pattern like the lower picture looks like.

Either one of those transmissions look like they are only cores that need to be gone through. Looks like they were stored outside as well, that's to bad because they may need internal parts replaced because of rust?

yes it do be lookin like a switch pitch . that one rite above me here^
the first pic dont look like it would bolt up. so your correct and your rite. Does the pitch switch have the converter with it? That will have some identifying marks on it too.

The SWitch Pitch mechanism is in the front pump assembly, which is the first part
to RUINED when stored outdoors without the torque converter, GOOD LUCK.
A half century old trans needs to be completely gone through anyway, I'd take
a good SWP pump assembly and transplant it into a later case with the bop pattern
you need. Check the ID plate on the trans; all SWP were Buick, Olds, or Cad built
    in 65/66/67. Bruce Roe

Didn't even consider the rust and effects from being stored outside. Screenshot_20171213-113158.png then we would have to put this one in the same category, right. This is news to me so thanks. What internal parts would be questionable?

Thanks, it just didn't look right. Will it have a different vein system on the converter? What marks will be on the converter?

Wow, ruined pump assembly huh, that's good to know thanks for the save. I'm guessing the SWP converter must be specific to the trans, like parts inside the differential or a pistion/cylinder relationship?
Are yiu saying to buy a good SWP asembly pump and swap it into the SWP pictured above?

    I am saying
    1. Check tags and see which of those are SWP. Also look up ID on Buick site. Final
check is the 1/2" long splines on the outer tube at the front.
    2. Pull those transmissions apart and see what good parts are left.
    3. If you don't have a good SWP front pump assembly, get one (on Eb+y now) and converter
    4. Build up a good SWP trans in a BOP case with correct length tail for your ap. It must have
the SWP oil passage, add a restrictor if missing.

Yes converter is specific for SWP, not interchangeable. Bruce Roe

Thanks for clearing it up for me. Do they sell any new parts for the SWP?

Rebuilt SWP converters are available. The stock 13" will add performance, smoothness,
and allow better fuel economy when properly set up. The more rare 12" version is
sometimes rebuilt for racing, forget the economy. Bruce Roe
