I think that is what they are called: The little plastic piece that fits in a square hole in the body. The emblem has a "pin" on the back and it fits in a hole in the plastic piece. The ones I need are for the letters "B_U_(I)_C_K" on the back of my wagon. Any one know of a source? - Bill
I think what you are asking for might be a "barrel clip". HERE is a thread for reference. Probably can find them at an auto paint store.
Those might work. The original ones were plastic like a "T" shape. The "T" fit into the hole and the top held it in place. The problem is the holes are square. I don't know how the barrel clip would clip into the holes. Most parts houses told me all they had were metal clips, not plastic. Thanks - Bill
Try looking through Auveco's catalog. Type in "Browse" as a username and password. The only plastic square type things I can think of are the nylon insert nuts like for a license plate screw to go in.
This is a 1967 Special station wagon. On the tail gate "BUICK" is spelled out. The holes in the metal are square. A square plastic insert snaps in. One pin on the emblem goes in a round hole in the plastic insert. The second pin is held on with a speed nut. I'll try to post a picture.... - Bill
Ttt Finally got some pics. They are actually metal with plastic inserts. It would be great if anyone has some or knows a source. - Bill
more I mangled this one, but it is the only one that survived! ou: You get the idea, here's more: - Bill
My 56 Specail uses similar ones to hold the "specail" emblem on the rear quarter. Only it is all metal and I couldn't find them at the auto paint shop store either. They have plenty of the round barrel clips but none rectangular like these. You find them on ebay from a parts car. Some of these special items are hard to find. Good luck.
