My car was factory painted top with the rest orange.

I replaced the trunk filler panel.

I eliminated the trim piece by welding in the side holes. I would eventually like to paint the car all one color but cannot afford that right now.

Does anyone have the measurements or dimensions for how far up the trim piece would've mounted? I was not smart enough to take measurements in advance. It would be great to have the filler panel dimensions and the sides.

You should be able to fit your corner pieces by using the existing holes and figure out by marking a line with the trim.

Yea just use the corners..hook the 3 pieces together and the will lay where it needs to be....the legs will sit even with the drip rail trim

As stated by OP - he closed the molding holes.
I don't understand why you would not just have the whole car painted now. It seems like a small up-sell on a practical level. Cutting in the two tone will require some amount of time. Additional time & material on over all paint job should not be much if one color

Ok, I was focused on that he replaced the trunk filler panel. Not that he also filled the Qtr panel holes. At this point I would leave the trim off, Will look better anyway.

I ended up just painting the whole top body color. The paint match is ....ok...I would say.

I did it all at home. I think I can blend it in fairly well with a buffer. I also concluded that trying to do the two tone would be too difficult and I would have to wait for one to color to completely dry and be sanded before starting the other.
