I have a 73 Q/Jet carb 7043240 that I've just rebuilt, runs great, idles great, same for WOT. But when I got the carb it had no linkage on the driver side of the carb. No choke pulloff, no secondary lockout, no choke linkage of any kind. Even the metal plate that all this stuff mounts on on the pass side is missing. Question is do I have to get another 73 carb to get all this stuff off of? Or is it possible to get the mounting plate and all of the other stuff from a later carb and make it work? :Do No: Something with an electric choke perhaps??

Dave, www.carburetion.com sells alot of stuff like the vacuum breaks etc. but not the plates. I would bet the side plate the holds the vacuum breaks is the same for multiple years maybe 70-74. Also you don't need the secondary lockout. I throw them in a box never to be seen again. They are just there so knuckleheads don't beat on their cars cold. But we all know about that.

Mostly I'm just worried about this carb if I ever decide to get rid of it, without all that stuff it's basicly worthless even though it works very well. I should probably just pull the choke plate and run it, even gain a few CFMs in the bargain. :Brow:
