    otter It'll be done someday.

I have a set of 3 way adjustable shocks from Competition Engineering, They are really neat in that you just rotate the washer shaped piece to set how rapid the front will rise or how slow it will drop. When I took them out of the box I noticed they don't have any setting labeled on the shock, also, if you turn the adjustment piece, it will go more than 3 clicks in either direction. What gives? is the 4th click back to the 1st setting or did I just ruin the shocks by going too far? Also without any markings how do I know if I don' have one shock set up @ 90/10 and the other set up @ 70/30 or 80/20???? I know these are fairly common drag shocks so someone must have experience with them, just no one I know around where I live.

I remember having the same problem. That was awhile ago and I no longer have the directions. I thought all the way up was 90/10, 80/20 and 60/40 etc, the fourth was kinda weak so I figured it was nothing. Just make them both the same.... or try from their web site:

"change the valve setting by simply compressing the shock fully and rotating the shaft until the indexing notch mates with the desired setting on the body"

"Rotate Competition Engineering's Adjustable Drag Shocks' shaft several revolutions with a wrench to free up the internal components before installing the shock in the car for the first time. This will make subsequent tuning adjustments easier."

"HOW TO ADJUST COMPETITION ENGINEERING DRAG RACING SHOCKS
    1. Fully depress shock. NOTE: When adjusting shock, keep in the upright position.
    2. With shock still depressed, rotate indicator clockwise for several revolutions after “clicks” are
heard. This action fully engages the adjustment mechanism.
    3. Rotate notch indicator to desired setting. See chart below.
    Note that the three adjustments
    repeat 360° around
    the shock.
    ADJUSTMENT CHART - SHOCK RATIO
    SETTING FRONT SHOCKS REAR SHOCKS
    R 60/40 50/50
    F 80/20 40/60
    XF 90/10 30/70
TECH TIP: When stroking shocks, do not stroke them upside down or sideways - this causes air to enter
the shocks. To eliminate air that may have entered the shock, purge the shock by stroking it 10 to 12 times
    in the upright position.
The SHOCK RATIO represents the percentage of force required to compress the should, compared to the
    force required to extend it.
